Boyle
is a small town in Bolivar County in northwestern Mississippi. As of the 2010 census, the population was 650 residents. Named for Andrew Boyle, the first European to discover the region, Boyle is an old railroad town. The Mississippi Blues Commission designated the Peavine Railroad site intersection at Highway 446 in Boyle, as a site on the Mississippi Blues Trail. They placed a historic marker at the site, which commemorates the original lyrics of famed blues artist Charlie Pattons Peavine Blues. The lyrics describe the railway branch of the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad which ran south from Dockery Plantation to Boyle. Riding the railroad is a common theme in blues songs, which is known for being a metaphor for travel and escape. Two additional Mississippi Blues Trail markers are located in nearby Cleveland. The first marker recognizes Chrisman Street, which once served as the center of African-American business and social life in Cleveland. The second marker celebrates blues musician W. C. Handy. The city of Cleveland, near Boyle, is the county seat and has a population of 12,334. Cleveland has many restaurants, shops and other services along U.S. Route 61. Other attractions include the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

Boyle Weather & Climate
Northwestern Mississippi , like most of the state, has a humid, subtropical climate. The weather is mostly determined by three factors; latitude, the Gulf of Mexico to the south and the landmass to the north. Temperatures in the state are relatively mild due to the proximity of the Gulf and the latitude. A humid, subtropical climate means warmer temps and regular precipitation all year, rather than having a distinct rainy season. However, Mississippi's weather at times seems to follow a "feast or famine" situation, rather than the average - either a lot of precipitation or drought conditions. Hurricanes are possible, but mostly affects the southern coast. Mississippi is also in the path of two tornado alleys that run southwest to northeast across the state.
