St-Martin
is a community located on the southeast Gulf Coast of Mississippi. It's part of the Pascagoula metropolitan area and has a population of around 6,500 people. St. Martin is south of Interstate 10 and is bordered by the community of Gulf Hills to the east, the Biloxi Bay to the south and the city of D'Iberville to the west. St. Martin is not incorporated but a census-designated place (CDP). The whole area is, of course, centered around water and water-related activities. Recreational sports in St. Martin include swimming, fishing, boating, sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing, crabbing, shelling, and sunning. However, there are non-water related things to do. Over 20 championship golf courses are located in the area, along with historic homes to tour, museums, magnificent gardens and some of the best restaurants featuring Cajun food/seafood in the state. St. Martin is just a short drive to the cities of Biloxi and Gulfport, which offers casinos and historical attractions such as the Biloxi Lighthouse, built in 1848. The Gulfport Sportsplex is a 250-acre park located near I-10 and Gulf Islands Water Park is the largest water park on the Mississippi coast. Altogether there are 34 parks and water recreation spots in the area.

The south-central coast of Mississippi has a tropical climate that is defined by the Gulf of Mexico. Winters are short and mild and summers are long and humid. Winter temperatures average in the upper 50s. Summer temperatures range from the lower 80s in May to the mid 90s by August. The humidity makes it seem much hotter at times. Rain can fall anytime of the year, and thunderstorms are possible in the summertime. Average annual rainfall is 62 inches. Snowfall is rare. During the spring and fall months, temperatures are usually very pleasant with lots of sunshine. Mississippi lies in the path of hurricanes moving northward from the Gulf of Mexico during the late summer and fall.
