Bay-St-Louis
is located in southwest Mississippi, a part of the Gulfport-Biloxi metro area. It is one of the towns devastated by Hurricane Katrina, but is recovering and as of 2011, the population was 9,408. The community of Bay Saint Louis is called a "Nature Lover's Paradise" and with good reason. Over 13 miles of white sand beaches and 30 miles of waterways and trails for hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, birding and other sports await you. Bay Saint Louis is also known for its scenic byways. Beach Boulevard Scenic Byway, formerly known as Old Highway 1, is a scenic byway that parallels the Hancock County coastline for 13 miles from its northern tip at Cedar Point in Bay St. Louis, crosses U.S. Highway 90, then travels through the National Historic District. The Beach Boulevard Byway features a picturesque drive through the quaint communities of Bay St. Louis, Waveland and Clermont Harbor. It runs along the scenic sand beach and includes a three-mile walking and biking trail of downtown areas. Other scenic byways include The Logtown, which winds through acres of pine plantation and oaks. The Napoleon is a short drive, but takes visitors on a tour of the now extinct town that was the first European settlement in 1767. The beauty of this area is unmistakable and its historic buildings and old south character are just a few reason why Budget Travel Magazine named Bay St. Louis one of the "Coolest Small Towns in America" in 2013. Also, Coastal Living Magazine named the town one of the "Top Ten Small Beach Towns in the County" in 2010. No doubt this is why the town declares "Come Play for a Day, You May Want to Stay!"

The south-central coast of Mississippi has a tropical climate that is defined by the Gulf of Mexico. Winters are short and mild and summers are long and humid. Winter temperatures average in the upper 50s. Summer temperatures range from the lower 80s in May to the mid 90s by August. Thunderstorms are possible in the summertime. Average annual rainfall is 62 inches. Snowfall is rare. During the spring and fall months, temperatures are usually very pleasant with lots of sunshine. Mississippi lies in the path of hurricanes moving northward from the Gulf of Mexico during the late summer and fall.
